What To Expect
It’s important to us that you to feel at home and relaxed when you come into the centre, so we have designated a special area on our website to make sure that you know exactly what to expect when coming in to the centre for the first time.
Why not download one of our New Client Massage form’s, which you can complete in the convenience of your own home. It can take up to 5 minutes to complete, so normally if it is your first time to the Centre then we would ask you to arrive early to fill it out. However, if you do it at home it will save you some time in the Centre! If you decide to do this, then just bring the completed form along with you to your first massage session.
If you have any questions about the form then just give us a call on 01233 632 000.
New Client Form
Arrival At The Centre
On arriving at the centre, you will be personally welcomed by one of our team members who will look after you and offer you a drink. Once you are settled, we will offer you our help to complete a new client massage form, if not already completed. This is to make sure the Massage Therapist is aware of your health concerns & able to give you the best care possible.
The Massage Therapist will begin with a consultation and during this she will review your symptoms , medical history and lifestyle. Rest assured that the Massage Therapist will listen to everything you have to say. We find that many people haven't been given the time to enable a resolution to their pain. This will provide the necessary information for the Massage Therapist to determine whether you will benefit from massage therapy.
What happens next...
After your consultation the Massage Therapist will explain what area she will be working on. She will help you to feel at ease & leave the room for a few minutes to give you time to get ready for your treatment on the massage couch. After a few minutes, the Massage Therapist will knock before entering the room ensuring you are ready. Once you are on the massage couch, the Massage Therapist will let you know how the massage will progress and throughout the massage will keep you informed of areas that may benefit from having more time. At the end of your session, the Massage Therapist will give you post-treatment care advice and will often explain the specific muscles that may need attention. As well as individuals receiving great benefits from Massage Therapy alone, we have seen many positive results through Massage Therapy working alongside Chiropractic care!
After the massage, the Massage Therapist will leave the room to allow you time to get changed. She will explain the importance of taking your time to get up; If you sit or stand up too quickly you may feel light-headed or dizzy. It is also important to drink plenty of water following the massage to ensure that you don't get dehydrated. This is where the Massage Therapist will offer you a drink of water following your treatment.
We have a couple of tips that we would like to suggest prior to coming for your massage....
1) Don't eat a heavy meal before your massage.
2) If it is your first time at the Centre, we would recommend you arrive at least 10 minutes early so you can complete the necessary form. Otherwise, why not arrive 5 minutes early so you can have a few minutes to rest and relax before you go through for your massage.
